Hewes Color Run

This exciting, new event was created to give Hewes students something fun and interactive while helping our school reach our HIGHLANDER CLUB FALL FUNDRAISING GOALS.

The Hewes Highlander Color Run will be a memory-maker for students. This event is designed to build community through colorful camaraderie. ALL STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE, but donating to our fall fundraiser, THE HIGHLANDER CLUB students will earn shirts and additional fun rewards. Our school will make money and everyone will walk away exhilarated and satisfied with a job well done. Let's give our students memories that will last a lifetime. Our students will be able to earn red, yellow, blue, orange, purple…and our school will end up with a lot of GREEN!

**All students must have 2019-20 PTA Participation Waiver on file to participate**

Here’s How it Works:

Our goal is to raise $65,000 during the Highlander Club Fall Fundraiser for PTA-sponsored programming at Hewes. The more money we raise, the more colors our school unlocks!

  • $35,000 Raised- Blue is Unlocked

  • $45,000 Raised- Yellow is Unlocked

  • $55,000 Raised- Purple is Unlocked

  • $65,000 Raised- Orange is Unlocked

Any and all monetary donations are welcomed, but here are our Highlander Club Levels and incentives.

CAASPP Testing

California’s statewide assessment program — called the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) — is part of our state’s ambitious education remodeling project.

California schools replaced the old state tests with new assessments that were built to let parents and teachers know how well students are learning the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s world.  Testing takes place for students in grades 3 through 8 and in 11th grade each spring. Parents should receive their children’s reports during the summer.

Hewes students will continue CAASPP testing from April 22 through April 26.
We are asking students to come prepared to be successful and they can do so by ensuring the following:

  • Have the iPad fully charged everyday along with charging block and cable
  • Bring earbuds/earphones to access the testing portal
  • Bring a silent reading book for when he/she is done with the testing for the day

Any students who have missed portions of the test will have the opportunity to make-up the tests.

Most importantly, remember we all have the knowledge to do well and the Hewes students will ride the wave to success.

We are anticipating a smooth and successful testing week with your help!

Spring Fundraiser: Online Auction

RAIN,RAIN, GO AWAY!
WE’RE HAVING OUR ONLINE AUCTION ANYWAY!

As you may have seen, rain is forecast for Saturday. With 100% chance of rain, our outdoor Arabian Nights  may turn into a Rainy night party instead. In an effort to keep everyone dry but do our best to raise funds for our children's school (while getting some really cool items), we are going to cancel the live Saturday, March 2 evening event but keep our on-line auction.

The good news is the online auction will still open until Tuesday, March 5 at 9:00pm. This means you have more time to review and bid on items that you would like. More items are being added every day so check back often between now and Tuesday, March 5.

Thank you to all those who have already purchased tickets. You will be contacted directly if you have already purchased your ticket.

We appreciate your continued support of Hewes Middle School and Hewes PTA.
